Albert, the Fake Christmas Tree

It wouldn't be the non-denominational, god-free holiday season unless tiny dog flogged its own annual tradition, Albert, The Fake Christmas Tree.

Lest you have forgotten, this timeless tale concerns the emotional trauma of a fake Christmas tree and its abuse at the hands of an indifferent and fatherless suburban family. It ends on a resonating note of hope, just like the holidays themselves.

I love this story. Even though it's about an anthropomorphic fake tree, it really does have that classic christmas story feel to it. Plus the illustrations are awesome. I love the rats named Sally and Maribel, and the spider who drops in to say that one line. And how can you beat a picture of a pine tree holding a cup of coffee? You can't.

Anyway, thanks for reprinting (or re-posting) this one. Here's wishing Albert a Merry Christmas this year.

Albert the Fake Christmas Tree was a touching story. I enjoyed it a lot! You might not remember me, but I commented once on your Eternal Page of Elliott Smith Fan Depression. :)

Hi Simon,

I am glad you liked Albert. I almost did another Christmas story this year but got too lazy. As you can see the ES page could also use an update. Sounds like I have my new years resolutions all set...
