I suddenly want a manual typewriter

Although I have been bothered my whole life by movies depicting modern-era writers who use manual typewriters, I suddenly want one.

When I was a kid, I had my dad's old manual typewriter (I think it was a Smith-Corona Galaxie) upon which I wrote letters to my Arkansan cousins, and fanfic about A-Ha (I have discussed this somewhere deep in the bowels of Tiny dog, but can't seem to find it now). Apparently my parents offered to give this typewriter back to me years ago, and I turned them down, likely in some sort of acetic, nomadic mid-20's frame of mind. Idiot! Now that I am an aging, nostalgic Gen X grump hypnotized by the squandered potential of my pre-Millennial youth, I yearn to hear the clickity click of that old thing once again.

So I'm gonna track one down and start typecasting. Right. I heard about it on NPR, purveyor of anachronistic, kooky news stories narrated in a bemused tone. It means that you type a blog entry on your cool manual typewriter, scan it, and then post it on your blog.

Rad.

I always like manual typewriters, but it's been many years since I've used one. I remember the one that my mom had when I was a kid, an olive drab-colored thing that looked like it came from the Army or something.
