Dear tiny
dog,
I thought
you might be interested in this story (http://www.nhptv.org/rrcont/rr8dogtrouble.htm
) as it somewhat echoes your own tragic sense of loss and deprivation
due to a certain family member who does not appreciate dogs. It
was written by our granddaughter, Jill. I have told Jill that
we would like to see a sequel in which Mom sees the error of her
ways and goes on Allegra. Do you see any hope for Carrie or is
she doomed to endless cycles of goldfish infatuation followed
by the inevitable Final Flush?

D.O.,
I
suspect that Carrie, rather like tiny dog herself, is not truly
appeased in her dog-having quest by such scant substitutes as
goldfish and neighbor dogs, but I do admire her ability to make
the best of a less than satisfactory, yet well-drawn quandary.
It
is a tragedy of modern times that the cards of dog ownership are
often, nay always, held by the dog hater of the house. However
tiny dog does often suspect the occasional dog hater of using
devious tactics like allergies to lend their dog disdain
an aura of medical legitimacy.
To
Carrie I would advise the oft-successful tactic of simply surrounding
herself with calendars, books, and pictures of dogs, and screaming
dramatically at Animal Planet showings of The Westminster
Dog Show and Breed All About It in order to
annoy those around her so terribly that they finally conclude
that actually getting a dog would be slightly less trouble for
all concerned. One can only hope this, in addition to a dispersal
of Allegra to all involved, is the subject of Dog Trouble II.
I hear that Moose, the dog from "Frasier," is being
considered for a lead role in this sequel and I look forward to
its happier outcome.
Thoughtfully
yours,
Tiny dog.
