For awhile I harbored paranoid thoughts that this album would be shelved, squirreled or squabbled over behind the scenes, keeping it from the ears of your average ES fan, but it seems that Elliott's peeps have pulled together and rallied to release From a Basement on the Hill, the album that was nearing completion at the time of his death. Do make haste to his official Web site for more news.
I spruced up the tiny dog fan page, WESFGTM*, in honor of the forthcoming release. I keep intending to add an essay about Elliott Smith fan-dom, but words continue to elude me on the vexing subject of this brilliant musician's senseless demise. It's proof positive that something is really f'd up in this world, is all I know.
