I read a haunting story in the paper this morning concerning a lone whale of undetermined type who has wandered the sea for many a year, calling fruitlessly to his fellow whales, to be greeted only by the overhead churn of freighters hauling sweatshop factory toys to first world nations.
Speculation has it that the 52 hertz whale is some sort of blue whale hybrid. Blue whales can weigh up to 100 tons, and are measured between 75 and 100 feet long. They live for approximately 80 years, a long time to drift the sea alone, sucking krill and evading harpoon cannons, cargo ship propellers, commercial fishing dragnets, and whatever other sinister, earth-destroying bullshit we land monkeys can think up to speed the demise of life in the ocean in exchange for a buck.
Tiny dog hopes that the 52 hertz whale finds another whale out there soon, because it's a big and lonely sea.
