Lemon Pie | 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Patti asked me if I was sure and I said yes, I was honestly feeling better, like the worst was over. She hung up apologetically with 911 and helped me onto the bed. Probably less than ten minutes time had elapsed since I first felt odd, it seemed like hours. I lay on the bed, Patti beside me, still concerned and amused at the same time and I started to sweat. It was like, gallons of sweat. Rivulets turned into streams, streams turned into rivers, and these rivers spilled out the polluted reservoir of my bodies water supply. Out you Lemon Pie!

Patti stayed for a few minutes to make sure I was really all right and then went into the family room while I still sweated for a half-hour or so.After that time I felt well enough to join her in the family room and the subject of dinner came up. I didn't feel well enough to go out so we ordered something to be delivered. She thought I was crazy to order Fish and French-fries but I doubt that I could have handled Pizza. To her astonishment I polished off the entire fish dinner and to her disgust I started eyeing what was left of her meal.

Anyway, the next day, Saturday, we went flea-marketeering and then we kinda laid low on Sunday and I felt fine, perhaps both a little wary and a little weary. I went to work on Monday and made it through a busy day without any real problems. Tuesday, I didn't feel that hot, I drove in to work and as soon as I got there I knew that I couldn't hack it. I felt like I had no strength at all so I went home and waited until I could make a doctors appointment. When I went in they examined me and took my blood and sent me home with orders to follow the BRAT diet, Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast, no butter, no salt, no Lemon Pie!

The blood-work came back and I didn't have any blood disease or anything, which was a relief. I was just weak, and I stayed that way for a long time, at least six weeks. I took my bananas and rice and applesauce and toast to work, I was dedicated to that BRAT diet but in the back of my mind I knew that there was still some unfinished business. When I felt better, when I had regained my strength I knew I had to climb right back up on the saddle of my favorite pony...That Lemon Pie!
